Annemarie Zabbara joined The Center for Sleep & Wake Disorders as a Physician Assistant in January 2010. Annemarie graduated from Towson University with a BS in Biology/ Pre-Medicine. She went to Chatham University Physician Assistant Program in Pittsburgh and graduated with a Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies. As a Physician Assistant, Annemarie worked for 3 years in an Internal Medicine practice on Long Island, NY that also specialized in treating patients with Lyme disease. After moving back to the DC area, she worked for 3 years in a busy Internal Medicine practice in Bethesda, Maryland. She has also been an Adjunct Faculty member at The George Washington University Physician Assistant Program teaching the Clinical Skills Laboratory since 2008. She is very excited to be specializing now in Sleep Medicine and was anxious to join Dr Emsellem and the Center for Sleep & Wake Disorders. Annemarie believes in a good patient-provider relationship to help deliver the highest quality of patient care. She is looking forward to being actively involved in the ongoing research efforts and study trials for investigational treatments for sleep disorders. In her spare time, Annemarie enjoys traveling, hiking, and biking.
